Major Streets

Central Park Avenue (Route 100) North will get you to many stores! There are: Trader Joe’s, Pathmark Grocery Store, Linens & Things, furniture stores, baby superstores, nurseries, doctor’s and dental offices, many grocery stores, diners, restaurants, Best Buy, movie theatres, CVS, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, car repair shops, Laundromats, banks, and anything else you might need in your first weeks here in Crestwood. You may have already noticed that it is difficult to get to things on the opposite side of the street from where you are. Central Park Avenue is full of jug-handle left turns and U-turns, and Crisfield (our closest cross-street) is one of them. If you’re approaching Crisfield on Central Park from the north, you can either get into the U-turn lane to your right, or actually turn left onto Fort Hill Road BEFORE you get to Crisfield. Then you make a left at the dead end onto Eisenhower, which will take you out to Crisfield, where you take a left again.

Central Park Avenue (100) South will take you to Bed Bath and Beyond, another Pathmark Grocery Store, and the village of Tuckahoe, where you can find a post office, a large Public Library (There is a very small one in Crestwood), public tennis courts, Verizon wireless store, and going further on 100 will bring you to Hwy. 87. Hwy. 87 South will take you directly into Manhattan. (See Basic Map on last page.)

The Bronx River Parkway (The BRP) North will get you to White Plains many times faster than driving down Central Park Avenue (100).
In White Plains you will find a Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Filenes’s Basement, the White Plains Mall, Westchester Mall, The Galleria Mall, and the White Plains Library.
In White Plains you can also find the Court house, and Department of Motor

The Bronx River Parkway (The BRP) South leads you into Bronxville and to the Cross County Parkway that will lead you to Hutchison Parkway.

Sprain Brook Road South (Not Sprain Brook Parkway!) will take you to Costco, Home Depot, and Stew Leonard’s. Take Central Park (Route 100 North. Make a left hand turn at Fort Hill Rd. This road will become Jackson Ave. (stay on Jackson Ave.) You will pass over Sprain Brook Parkway and then you will pass over State Thruway 87. Immediately turn left on the first street past Thruway 87. That street is Sprain Road. Follow that road and on your right you will see the Home Depot, further up that road after making a right you will see Costco and further up that same road you will see Stew Leonards.

Some Major Highways and their information:

87 and 287 North will bring you across the Tappan Zee Bridge where you can find a large shopping mall called the Palisades. Going further on 287N will bring you into New Jersey with an Outlet Shopping Mall, ski areas, beautiful hiking, and fresh air.
295 and 678 will bring you into Queens.
95S (goes west to George Washington Bridge) will take you to Elizabeth, NJ near IKEA and Newark Airport. One note: 95S and 95N are always congested. If possible, find an alternate route.
95N will take you to New Haven, CT, but take the Merritt Parkway; it’s always faster.
